"Commercial Success for Sugar Crops – Investment, Innovation and Efficiency"

Last year’s 21st ISO Seminar on "Sugar crops – unleashing growth potential" was carried by the upbeat expectations we had regarding the economic outlook for sugar crop processing industries around the globe.

The title of our 22nd Seminar "Commercial success for sugar crops – investment, innovation and efficiency" could be seen as a curriculum module of a business school master class, or in simple words a recipe for success.

Despite a massive sugar surplus and, as a consequence, prices under bearish pressure, the long term growth for sugar demand, renewable energy from ethanol and cogeneration, remains positive.

Against this encouraging background, this year’s programme will focus on crucial issues like the future role of movers and shakers: Australia, Brazil, China, the EU, India, Mexico, Thailand and the USA and their strategic and political options. In addition the outlook for sugar demand, the role of innovation and refining, as well as the interdependence between ethanol and sugar markets will be analysed.

Internationally renowned, authoritative speakers will share their assessment and outlook on decisive policy and economy aspects shaping the future of our industries.

The 22nd ISO Seminar will be chaired by Alain Jeanroy, Director General of the French Confederation of Beet Growers (Confédération Générale des Planteurs de Betteraves) in Paris. He is a tireless pioneer and convincing proponent of ethanol and sugar in Europe. Internationally he is a well-known, most respected and highly appreciated personality.
