Leonardo Bichara Rocha - Senior Economist
Leonardo Bichara Rocha has a PhD in Economics and has been working as an Economist for the ISO since early 2003. Prior to joining the ISO, he worked in his native Brazil for the Federal Court of Accounts.  Between 1999 and 2002, he taught Economics at the University of Essex . At the ISO, he is responsible for monitoring the world sugar and ethanol markets as well as researching market-related issues, commodity investment funds, exchange rates, freight rates, production costs and agricultural econometric modelling, among others. Leonardo has addressed as well as chaired many international conferences on sugar and ethanol.
