The Market in August
Global raw sugar prices remained near July’s 4-year low, based on monthly averages, even as white sugar prices traded higher on strong demand from Pakistan, the Philippines and other key importers. Market fundamentals are focused on the CS Brazil harvest, where the first half of August results showed strong cane volumes and a high sugar allocation, but a disappointing sugar recovery rate. Meanwhile, beet harvesting has commenced in Europe and North America marking the onset of autumn and the beginning of the 2025/26 season.
