The study also explores shifting trends within industrial usage categories, particularly in the beverage sector where notable changes occurred in several markets.
Statistical analysis indicates that economic development alone does not determine consumption structures, with cultural preferences, policy environments, and food system characteristics playing crucial roles in shaping how sugar enters the food chain.
